DADT NO MORE!!

Thank God!  Don't Ask Don't Tell has been repealed!  As soon as Obama signs the bill, I will keep my promise to myself and go dancing in the street!

It's about damn time!

I think this is the most wonderful Christmas present ever!

YAY!!

I am very excited that this got done. Of course, we have to try and keep hoping that the incoming congress won't succeed in turning back the clock on it, as they have sworn to do with health care.

But it does make sense. When DADT was first come up with, it was a compromise that was better than what they had before, but over the years, it's been clear that it was still unfair and unworkable. (At the time, I remember telling someone that DADT was OK if they'd have the same rule for straight people. Then guys would have to stop bragging about the women they'd been with, and vice versa.)

I agree totally. When I was in the Army it broke my heart to see two of the women I worked with unable to cry openly when they found out they were being stationed in different areas. They were completely in love.

Thank goodness that legalized bigotry is now no more!
