Yeah. A lot of people function in the world really well despite having PTSD. For me, the nightmares and flashbacks are really a minor part of it, even though I'm enough of a smouldering wreck to be on disability. More problematic are the fibromyalgia, the anxiety issues, the clinical depression, the migraines, and the general inability of my body to give a fuck. Despite this, I have a pretty good social life, I manage to travel (I usually road trip a few times a year), and I write and get published. Most people looking at me on any given day when I'm well enough to be out of the house would never guess there's anything wrong with me. We are way more than the sum of our symptoms.
