For those of you who I haven't told, which I think is pretty much all of you, I have been moved out of my section, out of my company, and into the mailroom. As of today, I recieved my mail handlers card and am officially a mail clerk. Yippy.
The reason for this, or so I am guessing, since no one told me anything, is that I apparently don't play well with others. I guess they don't want to risk me going pyscho on everyone and pulling a gun or something, so they shipped me out for a six month attatchment. I'm heartbroken, as you can imagine. NOT!
I just wish they had the balls to tell me in the first place before switching me while I was on leave. Oh, well. I'm enjoying the change, and the people are ok. I was even in Korea with one of them.
Well, back to work. Talk to you all later.

So when you deploy, you'll deploy with the battalion hq?

I'm not sure. As of now, I don't think I'll be deployed until March or sometime around there. You know how it is, they never tell the hired help anything, lol.

Well, actually, when it came to deployments, we knew what the heads knew. Of course, from my experience in Iraq, the Airborne takes better care of its soldiers than leg units, so maybe I just am coming out of the gates with the standard raised.

I think so. Around here, its fend for yourself or get run over. Everyone I have ever met who has come into signal from either airborn or artillary says the same thing: that signal sucks, that the people don't take care of each other, that the bullshit is a lot worse, and that no one tells anyone anything. Ironic, isn't it?
As of right now, am thinking that I won't be deployed until later, and that if I do get deployed, it will probably be in the position of mail clerk. But who knows?

Heh, in a deployed situation, mail clerk is the most thankless job, since you are the only lifeline to the outside world for those people. I tell you what, be super sweet to the people who don't get mail... Like you empathize... And you will be their best friend. Trust me on this. Mail is key, so you will actually be in a position of some importance.
