School, money and me, oh my!

Just found out today that I qualify for an unsubsidized loan.  If I take it, then I'll owe about 8,000 as of right now.  On the other hand, I can't really picture how I'm going to pay for school any other way.  So...I guess I'll be taking the loan and selling my soul for the next several years.  Is a BA really worth it?  I hope so.  I wish I could quit Walmart right now and just concentrate on school, but I don't think that will happen.  However, I got a coaching today becuase I've been absent 6 times since Oct.  Yeah, pesky little things like a bad back and stomach flu will do that to a person.  They told me if I get 7 absences then it is grounds for termination.  So, yeah, ok.  I guess I should just start looking for a new job, sigh.  Oh, well.  It was nice having insurance while it lasted.

Student loans suck, but they are worth it. I'm doing the same thing right now, applying for yet more loans so that I can pay for my summer semester and actually graduate.

The good thing is, once you've got through school, you can get a much, much better job than Walmart, you'll be able to have the health insurance, benefits, etc that everyone needs, and life won't be so precarious. It totally outweighs the factor of having to pay back the loans (and this is coming from someone who has way, way more than $8000 to pay back).

You're doing great and things are going to be so much better for you in the long run. Just keep that thought in mind.

I think once I leave Walmart things will be better overall. They were great when I was so desperate for a job, but now it is just really bringing me down, becuase I have no time for myself or my homework. I'm going to apply on campus for a job and hopefully that will come through, but if not I know that the store across from Walmart is hiring, and from everything I've heard, they are much, much better to work for. As for the debt...sigh. I think I just have to bite the bullet and do it, and know that in the end I'll be a lot happier about the whole thing.
