I interviewed for a temporary position on Friday at work, which I didn't get, but I didn't feel too bad as there had been 26 people who applied and only 7 positions.  One of the managers who had been on the interview board, and who was my former manager from a different team, came up to me shortly before I left today and told me that it had actually been a very close thing.  Apparently the only thing that prevented me from getting the position was that I didn't have quite enough experience.  She also told me that the board had only heard good things about me, and to keep up the good work.  I can't stop smiling!

It may have been a little thing, but I had been feeling kind of bad about the interview, that I had made an idiot of myself, and to find out that I had actually come close to the position when there were so many people who had been there longer than me and had more experience really made me feel better.

I hope everyone had a good day today.

Sometimes it's just that little moment of a compliment and your whole world seems a nicer place. Yup. :) A colleague who normally is really caustic paid me a compliment today, if an odd and funny one, and I left for the day still grinning.

That manager is a wonderful person to let you know all that. :)

It's always a good thing to hear that you've done well! And kudos to your management for letting you know how well you did-- many managers would not bother with that.

((hugs))
