Well....that was new and horrifying.

I think I must have pissed off some kind of tech God.  I had to redo my computer's operating system on Wednesday, because it only gave me the black screen of death when I turned it on, and today my cable box started smoking before totally dying.

Doh!

I got it unhooked and turned everything off, but my place smells of burnt bacon and I can't watch my cable.  Also, I hadn't yet watched the new Supernatural, and I'm pretty sure it's lost now.  Grrrrr.

The tech is supposed to come out tomorrow, hopefully to fix my box (HA!) or give me a  new one.  Until then, I guess I'll just have to make do with watching Granada's Sherlock Holmes and perhaps reading a book tonight.  Oh, the horror!  (Snicker)

Still... Kind of miffed about losing all the shows I had saved.  Not to mention it's going to cost about 100$ to get the computer diagnosed and fixed.  Since I've missed so much work to being sick, my paycheck has been pathetically small, so it may be a few weeks before I can take it to get all the bugs out.  Sigh.  It always comes down to money.

Oh, well.  I hope you all are faring better than I.  Take care, and have a safe and happy weekend!

I think there are definitely grouchy tech Gods. During one week a few years ago two of my clocks stopped working, my laptop hard drive melted down, and my car needed repair. It's like there's a Law against only one tech thing breaking down at a time.

Oh, goodness! I think you're right, once one thing goes, it's like it sends a signal to all other items that they have to brake down now!

*Hugs*
