POLL TIME!

It's a little slow today, and I'm still depressed about my new schedule, so here's a silly poll for everyone![Poll #1629243]

Baked apples with Swiss cheese are actually kinda awesome. Or if you're me and adhere to the tenets of Chinese cooking like they're a foodie bible, then cheddar cheese + cooking apples gives you the sweet/salt/sour holy trinity.

Ohhh, that sounds yummy! I love to make cooked apples in winter with a bit of cinnamon and butter. But to get the salty/sweet flavor on raw apples, I usually just add a tiny bit of salt. Om nom nom nom!

My main questionis why eat something with the apples? They're excellent as they are. :)

One of my previous coworkers ate almondw siht her apples though.

Apples are yummy no matter how you eat them, lol! Although, I've never heard of eating them with almonds!

I actually like carrots, but have developed an allergy to them.

Ah, well.

Oh, that's harsh! I like carrots, but they have to have a bit of dressing.

Roasted Apples
Ingredients:
3 Gala apples, peeled, cored, and coarsely chopped
3 Golden Delicious, peeled, cored, and coarsely chopped
1 lemon, juiced
2 cinnamon sticks
1/4 cup sugar
Pinch salt
2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Spread the apples out in a casserole pan and add the lemon juice, cinnamon, sugar, salt, and butter. Bake until the apples are roasted and soft, about 30 minutes. Serve the chunky apple sauce with cottage cheese, oatmeal or ice cream. Or eat it with a spoon. Doesn't matter.
Yield: 2 cups

Oh, that sounds so yummy! I am definitely going to try that when it gets a bit colder! I love baked apples!

It is yummy. I am the dessert queen. You would not believe the number of pie recipes alone that I have. It's kind of sad.
