THey found a cave near the water source, and half the group decided to go live in it for shelter/proximity to water, but the other half wanted to stay on the beach because they could more easily get rescued. Jack went for the caves and Kate stayed on the beach.
Charlie and Locke became friends and Charlie gave Locke his drugs (Locke wanted him to get clean) in exchange for Locke showing him where his guitar was, which he'd found.
Jin beat up Walt's dad (forgot his name right now) over an expensive watch that he'd found and not realized was Jin's.
