Just a friendly announcment.
Jun. 7th, 2011 09:54 pmHello, all! I would just like to say that from now on, I am boycotting Delta Airlines. Why? Because they charged soldiers returning from Afghanistan for their baggage.
For 34 soldiers, with travel vouchers from the military for up to 4 bags, they were charged $200 for the 4th bag, even though Delta has a deal with the military not to charge the soldiers. What was in the bags that were charged? Their weapons. Yes, the weapons that they used to save their lives, the lives of their friends and the lives of the civilians they were protecting. I don't know about you, but to stuff a year of my life into 3 bags, and have the 4th one for my weapons, that's pretty damn good packing.
So. The total for 34 soldiers who are returning from a year in Afghanistan? $2800 from their own pockets.
Take from this what you will, but I, personally, will not fly Delta again. Besides, they're they airline I flew into England who's hydrolics didn't work and skidded when we landed.
I hear Air Canada is pretty good.
*Steps off soap box, wanders away.*
