piplover: (Yoda)
I found this when I went to grab one of my notebooks to swat a wasp.  I remember writing it?  Vaguely?  It's in my handwriting, at least, so I'm pretty sure it's mine from like, ten years ago.  I kind of impress myself every now and then.

To one who seeks
The desert solace
Which only loneliness
Can bring
With sandy steps
And howling wind
Wiping presence from
Our minds.
Seek not the path
But wander blindly
Following the hopeless
Journey that you brave.
To the stars find guidance.
To the moon a face
Which companionship
Will offer.
Look not for others
When the night
Wears on
And bones are tired
Look to yourself
And find the peace
Which only loneliness
Can bring.

Light is fading
Darkness creeps
Spiralling circles
Children weep
Blood in the rivers
Pouring down
A fountain of pain
Children's frown
The moon is dark
And stars have faded
Lovers whisper
Of hearts jaded
piplover: (mourning)
Sorrow fills the hearts of many
Crushing blackness
Deep despair

Gaping wounds
With sides infected
Open sores, unrepaired

Blood is pooling
Flowing freely
Dribbling down my flesh

Tears or pain
And salt and sorrow
Seeping in,
My wounds are fresh

“Do Not Stand at my Grave and Weep”

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the mornings hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight,
I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die.

This isn't very good, but I was just letting my mind ramble. Please excuse bad cadence and rhyme.

This is for my true love, Eladio, who is so very far away, yet so close to my heart. I still wear the rings, Dearheart, and keep them close to my heart.

Three rings upon my fingers rest
One of promise
One of test

The third of love and friendship true
Of kisses soft
All from you

Together all kept near my heart
Reminding me
Though apart

We'll manage through this dark of night
Keeping true
Holding tight

To our love, forever tested
And in the end
Never bested.

Stars above light my path,
Ever as I wander,
Slow steps of even tread,
As my mind does ponder.

How the world has changed,
And faces filter past,
Hearts racing together,
Friendships lasting fast.

Wet upon my face,
Blood rushing in my ears,
Knowledge crushing shoulders,
Cheeks damp with tears.

Ever shall I wander,
Down this darkened road,
Shadows follow in my tread,
Reaping all I sowed.
