OMG I met David Hewlett! *Deep breath*
The trip started off on somewhat shaky footing, since the friend I was hoping would go with me had to cancel, and then I couldn't get my sister or any other girl friends to go. So my friend Matt said he would go with me, only he has a huge crush on me and, well, the thought of sharing a hotel room with him was kind of creepy. But everything turned out all right. After a *7* hour trip we checked into the hotel only to find out that they had messed up my reservation, and that instead of a room with two beds they gave a room with one bed. Matt was a gentleman, though, and slept on the floor. Hey, I paid for the room, so I got the big bed, lol.
This morning we got up super early (hey, 8 is super early for me!) and were out of the hotel by 930. I found a parking spot right across from the theater, and boy, am I ever thankful for that!!!! As we were walking around the area, trying to kill three hours before the show, guess who walked right by us walking his dog? Yep, David Hewlett and his faince Jane. Matt wanted to stop them and ask for a picture, but I convinced him that would be impolite, so I settled for watching with longing as he walked on past. Two hours later found me in line waiting for the movie to start, talking to some friends! Here's a pic of them.

It was really nice to have someone to squee with, and when DH walked past us to enter the theater and waved at us we all kind of blushed and waved back, then started giggling like school girls. It was so embarrassing and at the same time so much fun!
The movie was wonderful!!! I haven't laughed that hard in so long, and when it comes out on DVD I highly, highly recommend getting it. It's called A Dog's Breakfast, and it is a good movie for the entire family. I loved it!
Now for the best part of the trip. After the movie a group of us stood around outside hoping to get a photo with DH, but he had told at the end of the Q&A that he had like, 10 pages of dialog to learn for this week, so he had to take off. So he walked out, waved to us again and said thanks for seeing the movie.
Well, I just so happened, by pure coincidence that I am thanking the Gods for, parked my car three cars from his. And as we both crossed the street, he mentioned that the movie case weighed a ton.
I told him I had enjoyed the movie very much and thought it was very funny. He asked if the two of us had come up for the Stargate Convention and we told him, no, we just drove up to see his movie. When he asked us where we were from and we told him, his eyes got really large and he almost yelled, "You drove seven hours just to see my movie?"
Matt, sensing weakness, lol, said, "Oh, yes, and it was so worth it!" And then very politely asked if DH would mind getting his picture taken with me, since we had driven so far. He said yes immediately, and not only did I get a picture with DH but with his faince, Jane, the other producer of the movie John Lennic, and the star of the movie, Mars, although I don't think you can see Mars in the picture, he was behind Jane.
Wow! Then we thanked them all very much and took off, and as we drove out of the parking lot and I'm trying not to have a panic attack while trying to figure out where to go next, I look over to my left and there is David Hewlett, waving to me as they turn.
It was wonderful!!! Here is the second picture, and if I look a bit dazed, well, I am! The person on DH's other side is my friend Matt.

Ok, here are some of the pictures I got while at the con. Don't want to kill anyone's computer, so I'm only putting 6 up. I have a few more I can add later if any of you want. Enjoy!

By the way, that last picture is a group shot of us with Douglas Aruthers, and he actually grabbed me and pulled me onto his lap when I went to go stand behind him, lol! He is the biggest sweetheart!

Just got back from the con, and holy shit! What a weekend! I hope to have the pictures up sometime tonight or tomorrow. I still can't believe that JF touched me! And MS! OMG!
Ok, ok, ok, the rest of the report.
When JF did his panel, I asked him if Sheppard had forgiven McKay yet for Trinity, and even though the answer was kind of round about, I got the definate feeling it was a big old YES! So, at least one thing resolved, lol. Also, Martin Gero confirmed that Rodney is John's best friend. Awwwwww!
The dessert party thing was a bit of a letdown. They only gave the actors about 4 minutes at each table, but even so, MS was so fucking hillarious. He kept commenting on the falic nature of our center piece. Beau Bridges was very nice, even though he just had time to sit and ask us where we were all from. A very nice man, from what I could tell.
JF didn't show up, but that made sense, since he seemed really tired after the signing and everything. I think he's just really shy. I felt kind of bad about the pictures, since its like, Here, you get to be the human scenery. Of course, that didn't stop me from taking advantage of it! Squuee!
Anyway, Amanda Tapping talked yesterday, and she mentioned that while filming GUP, the outfit she was supposed to wear when she gets all sexy didn't work. The mesh inflated with water and it looked very unsexy, so she ended up just grabbing her bra and they used that. She seemed like a really nice person, very sweet, and I had to laugh when she said that David Hewlett was a REALLY good kisser, lol.
Also, it will be her, David Hewlett, and the director for the commentary on GUP. I can't wait for that!
She also mentioned the time when the puppetteers had Thor touch her butt and she tottally unthinking slapped him. Then she was like, Oh my god, I'm sorry! THEN she realized she was talking to a pupet and had to laugh at herself.
I may not like Sam very much, but I really thought AT was a sweetheart.
After the convention, Heidi, Goo, Tammy and I were invited to join Debs and Fiona in the bar for drinks with the actor who played Herh-ur and the bad guy from Chronicals of Riddick. Very, very sweet man, handsome, very nice. He actually plopped me down on his lap for a picture, and then he kissed both me and Goo goodbye. Very sweet person.
Anyway, I had a totall blast and didn't want the convnetion to end. It was wonderful. I can't wait to go back. And like I said, I'll try and have the pictures up tonight or tomorrow.

Con Update

Had a wonderful day today at the con in Vancouver. Went on a tour of the sets and got to see both Stargates. Had my picture taken in front of the puddlejumper, and got to sit in the pilot's seat. That was pretty fuckin cool! They weren't shooting today, but we got to meet John Smith, the executive producer who gave us the tour, and Martin Gero. Awesom men, both.
When we came back, I had my picture taken with Joe Flannigan. That man is sooooo handsome! My Gods, I was trembling when he put his arm on my shoulder! Then I had my picture taken with Michael Schanks, and accidently goosed him. Honestly, it was a mistake! My hand tangled in his jacket when I went to put my arm around his waist, and I apologised right away. He just smiled, lol!
Tonight is the dessert and dance party, which I am really looking forward to. I can't wait to just sit back, relax, have a lot of fun and maybe talk a little more to the actors. That would be neat. Beau Bridges is supposed to be there tonight, along with Joe Flannigan and Michael Schanks and Gary Jones. Not sure who else is supposed to be there, but I'll let you know tomorrow.
Anyway, just thought I would let you all know that I am having a wonderful time, and will definately be coming back next year. Talk to you all soon.

For those of you who don't know, I am in Canada right now, eagerly waiting for the Vancouver Stargate Convention to start. Today we have the opening, some panels with some of the actors, and a cabaret tonight. Tomorrow, a set visit! Squeee! Plus, pictures with Joe Flannigan, Michael Shanks, and some others I can't remember, lol.
I am looking forward to having a wonderful time, and the friends I have met here, and am staying with, are a blast. I'll keep you updated as the convention goes on, and let you all know what Joe Flannigan really looks like (becuase my God, that man is sex on legs) and how good he smells, lol.
Anyway, just wanted everyone to know that I'm still alive, in a much better mood than the last post, and doing my best not to squee myself into oblivion.
Take care!

SGA thought

Does anyone know if season three of SGA is taping right now? I'm going on a set visit in a few weeks, and am wondering if I'll get to see them! Snicker. Probably not, but the thought makes me squee!

SGA Ficlet

piplover: (Fear)
Ok, its not LoTR. I have to admit, I have been sucked into the world of Stargate Atlantis, and have been for some time. However, do not worry, my LoTR friends, I am still writing Pippin fanfic. But the depression I've been battling agianst for the past year has made it increasingly hard to write Pippin in situatins that aren't all doom and gloom.
So, as an alternative, I am writing SGA fic, allowing me to keep Pippin as I envision him: still innocent despite all he has seen and done.
That being said, for those of you brave enough, here is one of the few SGA fics I've been brave enough to write and post over on Wraithbait: Fading.
