SQUEEEEEE!!!!
Mar. 25th, 2007 11:57 pmOMG I met David Hewlett! *Deep breath*
The trip started off on somewhat shaky footing, since the friend I was hoping would go with me had to cancel, and then I couldn't get my sister or any other girl friends to go. So my friend Matt said he would go with me, only he has a huge crush on me and, well, the thought of sharing a hotel room with him was kind of creepy. But everything turned out all right. After a *7* hour trip we checked into the hotel only to find out that they had messed up my reservation, and that instead of a room with two beds they gave a room with one bed. Matt was a gentleman, though, and slept on the floor. Hey, I paid for the room, so I got the big bed, lol.
This morning we got up super early (hey, 8 is super early for me!) and were out of the hotel by 930. I found a parking spot right across from the theater, and boy, am I ever thankful for that!!!! As we were walking around the area, trying to kill three hours before the show, guess who walked right by us walking his dog? Yep, David Hewlett and his faince Jane. Matt wanted to stop them and ask for a picture, but I convinced him that would be impolite, so I settled for watching with longing as he walked on past. Two hours later found me in line waiting for the movie to start, talking to some friends! Here's a pic of them.

It was really nice to have someone to squee with, and when DH walked past us to enter the theater and waved at us we all kind of blushed and waved back, then started giggling like school girls. It was so embarrassing and at the same time so much fun!
The movie was wonderful!!! I haven't laughed that hard in so long, and when it comes out on DVD I highly, highly recommend getting it. It's called A Dog's Breakfast, and it is a good movie for the entire family. I loved it!
Now for the best part of the trip. After the movie a group of us stood around outside hoping to get a photo with DH, but he had told at the end of the Q&A that he had like, 10 pages of dialog to learn for this week, so he had to take off. So he walked out, waved to us again and said thanks for seeing the movie.
Well, I just so happened, by pure coincidence that I am thanking the Gods for, parked my car three cars from his. And as we both crossed the street, he mentioned that the movie case weighed a ton.
I told him I had enjoyed the movie very much and thought it was very funny. He asked if the two of us had come up for the Stargate Convention and we told him, no, we just drove up to see his movie. When he asked us where we were from and we told him, his eyes got really large and he almost yelled, "You drove seven hours just to see my movie?"
Matt, sensing weakness, lol, said, "Oh, yes, and it was so worth it!" And then very politely asked if DH would mind getting his picture taken with me, since we had driven so far. He said yes immediately, and not only did I get a picture with DH but with his faince, Jane, the other producer of the movie John Lennic, and the star of the movie, Mars, although I don't think you can see Mars in the picture, he was behind Jane.
Wow! Then we thanked them all very much and took off, and as we drove out of the parking lot and I'm trying not to have a panic attack while trying to figure out where to go next, I look over to my left and there is David Hewlett, waving to me as they turn.
*Faints*
It was wonderful!!! Here is the second picture, and if I look a bit dazed, well, I am! The person on DH's other side is my friend Matt.
SQUUUEEEEEEEE!!!!!

Date: 2007-03-26 08:12 am (UTC)I'm still so excited that I actually talked to him! It was pure coincidence that we parked where we did, and after he asked us where we were from he asked which border crossing we had used. Then he asked if we had a Nexus pass, and started talking about that. I was in heaven, lol!
*Blush*
I'm not all that special in the picture, but isn't DH a dream?
*Huggles you!*
