Hello, all!
I'm sorry I haven't really been around much. The past few weeks have been rather... blech. The migraine I had a few weeks ago lasted for about 5 days. Nothing I did could get rid of it, and I ended up missing nearly two full days of work. Thankfully I had the PTO to cover it, but even that has it's downside. I just found out today that my company doesn't offer vacation days. Only PTO. You get 140 hours of paid time off for the whole year, which you accrue every pay period. If you get really sick and you don't have enough PTO to cover your vacation, you're out of luck. And that just sucks ass.
So, I had enough to cover my being sick, but it took a big chunk out of what I was saving. Also, that doesn't roll over to the next year, so I would have to use up all my PTO this year or have it go into my ebank, which I guess is a stockpile of hours in case you get a long term sickness. So in other words, it's going to be very hard for me to visit my sister again. Garh!
In other news, tomorrow I go in for bloodwork. I get to miss about an hour of work, because the VA is opened the same hours we are, and when I told my boss that I had to go in she threw her arms up in the air and said, "Don't they know you have a job?" I wanted to say, "Don't you know you hired a disabled veteran? What did you expect?" But I kept my mouth shut.
In to the VA tomorrow, and then again on Friday. And joy of joy, my doctor has left to take a new position in Tacoma, so I get to brake in a whole new one. Yay. Who knows how this doctor will be?
I need to find a regular doctor outside the VA.
Anyway, that's enough kvetching from me. I'm going to drink my tea before I have to start my fast, and then read for a while before bed. Oh, what an exciting life I live!
