Writing, or attempting to write, a paper for my historical psych class. It's not exactly coming along, but I have three days to finish it, so I figure I'm doing good by actually starting it today instead of waiting until Tuesday. Still... it's actually a rather sad paper, dealing with shell shock and PTSD and how people were treated. I suffer from PTSD, though not to a great extent, and the thought of those poor soldiers having to live their lives being thought cowards and lunatics.... it makes me want to cry for them. I love history, but sometimes it brings home how truly fucked up our world is.

At least we now do understand that PTSD is a real thing. I am stunned to realize how little it was understood in the past--even when they first began to give it the name of "shell shock", they still just threw the soldiers right back in to the same situation! Horrible!
