I know I'm a few days late, but I was struck down by a monster migraine.  I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year, and that 2010 is looking brighter than 2009.

I don't like doing resolutions, but I do have a few things I want to work on for myself.  So, in no particular order:

*Lose 30 pounds by Aug.  I think this is a healthy and attainable goal, so I'm really going to try and accomplish it.  Eating healthy, exercising, and not sitting at the computer or on the couch all day.  It's going to be hard on my work days, since I work 11 hour days, but I think I can still fit in a half hour walk or some sit ups on those days.

*Manage my money properly.  This one is going to be big for me.  I really don't want to end up in the hole again, after starting the year off right and in the green.  So, the simple goal is to stay out of the black and start putting some away in savings.  I just have to be careful and watch what I buy.

*Keep the apartment clean.  I know this sounds easy, but I'm lazy, and it's very easy to let those little piles of books and papers grow.  Also, I got a brand new vacuum for Christmas, so I really need to use it more than once a week.

*Don't beret myself.  It is very easy to say nasty things to yourself when you're having a bad day, and I really want to change that.  I've been better than in past years, but I want to keep improving.

*Write.  I want to get back into writing, both original and fanfic.  It doesn't matter if it's any good, just so long as I start doing it.  This ties in with the above, as for the past year it seems like everything I write is not very good, and I need to not judge myself so harshly.

So, that's what I have for now.  These are the big things in my life right now that I think need improvement, so wish me luck!  Here's hoping that this next year is a lot better than last!

*Hugs*

Happy New Year, Pip! Those seem like great goals.

A little tip that works for my mom in keeping her apartment (somewhat) tidy is, "Don't put it down, put it away." If you're about to put something down somewhere (a book, piece of paper, shoe, whatever), take a few extra seconds to put it *away*, instead.

*sends good-luck wishes*

That is an excellent tip. I know that a lot of times I'll come home and throw my jacket on that couch rather than put it in the closet a whole three feet away, lol. I'm going to try and do that and see if I can't keep my apartment a bit better this year!
