Aggghh! My poor plant! I left for a few hours and when I came back it was all wilted! Granted, it wasn't in the best condition when I left, but at least it was still upright! Oh, where is Sam when I need him?
I kill everything green I touch!
*sniffles and talks sadly to dying plant*

Maybe you can put it in a bucket of water and let it absorb a lot of water (sorry don't know if there's a word for it in English). Some plants react to that, even if they do look dead.

I did give it a lot of water, and it seems to have perked back up. I think you're right, and it was thirsty.

what kind of plant is it ? is the earth dry or wet ? any bugs on it ? Did it stand in a cold draft from the window ? Sharing Sam's love for all things green and growing I'd like to help, but I don't think a few hours really made a difference, maybe it has been sick before.

It's called a polkadot plant, because of the pink spots on its leaves. It's just a tiny little thing, and I think my roomate overwatered it a few weeks back when I was in the field. It's been looking a little sickly since I got back.
I've been watering it every other day, but the soil was dry last night, so I gave it a lot of water and it has perked up. But I'm afraid it will wilt again. I don't know how to tell when its had too much water and when it needs some more. It just looked so pathetic last night, like it was on its last legs. Er, roots.

The desert heat is something, isn't it? I have four plants at the office that I water 2-3 times a week, and they still wilt every weekend and glare accusingly at me on Monday mornings.

Parenting is so difficult...

Agreed! My poor Sam (the name of my plant) must hate me. I'm doing the best I can, but I just don't seem to have a green thumb. And this desert climate isn't helping.

*calls Strider over*
Strider, this plant has been wounded, by some unknown devilry (NOT PIPLOVER).
Strider: I will do what I can, but I cannot promise anything, we must ride to either Rivendell or the Shire. Lord Elrond, and Master Samwise are the only two who can help it now.
*Aragorn picks up plant and hands it to Arwen who rides away*

PS. ON RL POV
You're thumb will get better!! And it's no wonder you don't have a green thumb, mine looks perfectly beige right now, and so does my moms, well, everyone I knows's!
