I not only had a wonderful conversation with Pippinswolf, aside from our phones cutting out, lol, but I spend an enjoyable evening with a friend and her kids. When did I become one of the grownups, talking with Mommy at the cookout? Amazing! I'm an adult and didn't even realize it!
It was rather funny to watch my friend, Becca, hobble around her house on a crutch, as she seriously tore her knee up last field problem and has no feeling in her foot anymore. I say funny because she was not only dealing with her bad leg, but her other leg and her arms and face were severely sunburned yesterday during sports day.
Thats a day when the Army decides it will be lots of fun to have us participate in several sports events and then give out trophies. I missed that fun because I am still under invalid status and was told to take the staff duty while the person who was supposed to be on it played sports. I felt bad, because Becca should have been sitting the duty, but since it takes her about ten mintues to cross a room, they figured I was the better choice.
However, she was able to cook an amzing dinner last night! And she offered to teach me, which is good, as my cooking skills consist of: open can, place in bowl, microwave.
Granted, I have managed to cook a few dishes by myself without setting the place on fire, but that is a rare occasion. I am looking forward to some new culinary skills!
