Rubber ducky, you're the one!
Jul. 3rd, 2011 11:14 amYesterday the mother unit and I went for an impromptu shopping trip. I'm making small changes around the flat, as I can't afford to move and I am seriously tired of the ugly tile in the bathroom.
After visiting Walmart we decided to head to JC Penny, where we discovered they were having a sale! Yeah, we were doomed, lol.
I ended up getting a lovely carpet which covers almost the entire bathroom floor and a toilet seat cover. I just need to buy one more small carpet, to match the seat, and my bathroom will look sooo much better! I spent the better part of last night sweeping, mopping and scrubbing the floor, then hanging up my new shower curtain and putting my new carpet in. It looks amazing!
Also! My mom is the best mom in the world! She bought me this:
Sorry the picture's a bit blurry. It's a rubber ducky tea strainer! It bobs in the tea and then you place it in a pretty little blue holder when you're done, so you can reuse it again and not worry about the tea staining your counter or something. I love it!
She showed it to me while I was purchasing the carpet, and then showed me the price, and I was like, "Um, it's OK, I don't need a rubber ducky tea strainer, even though it's amazing!"
I thought she put it back, but after I finished my purchase, I walked over to her and asked what she had just bought. Yes, I know, I'm a bit slow. In my defense, she had purchased some washcloths earlier and I thought she may have bought more. Then she gave me my rubber ducky and I squealed very loudly in the store. Heads turned. It was glorious!
Then we went out for ice cream.
All in all, it was a wonderful day. Today she's coming over to help me rearrange my bedroom. I have to get all the stuff off the furniture in there and remove drawers and what not, but it will be fun! My little brother, the stinker, isn't going to help, even though I practically begged him. Oh, well. Who needs men?
Pictures to follow once the place is all settled in it's new arrangement. I'm so excited! I've been living here for 3 years, and my room has barely changed at all in all that time! It's time for a change!
