Happy New Year!
Dec. 31st, 2012 05:27 pmHappy New Year, everyone! Well, a bit early on my side, but I'm sure it's the new year in several parts of the world.
Sorry I haven't responded to the comments on my last post. That stupid migraine plagued me nearly all week and into the weekend. By the time I got off work on Thursday (I did end up calling in the whole day on Wed) and Friday, I pretty much just wanted to go to bed and be miserable. The weekend was a bit better, and I'm finally feeling mostly OK now. Sheesh.
Anyway, tonight I'm having steaks for dinner with mashed potatoes and a salad, a rather traditional meal in my family on New Year's Eve. I'm not going out to do anything, but rather plan to spend it quietly inside with the cats, a good book, and some tea. Bliss! Everyone else can brave the cold and the crowds, I'm already in my PJs at 5:30 and settled in for the night.
My plans for the new year are fairly straight forward. Try to be more positive at work and don't let the bitches get me down. Really crack down on my laziness and exercise. Buy a house.
Yep, that last one is the big goal for this year. I just have to wait until March, when I'll have been at the new job for 6 months, to apply for my VA loan and then I can start house hunting in earnest. I've already found a few I really like that are in what I think my price range will be. I'm excited and scared and chomping at the bit to get started.
I've been living in my flat for 5 years, and I'm ready to move on.
And who knows? This year a house, maybe even a boyfriend if I can start being social.
So on that note, I hope everyone has a safe, happy, and wonderful night, and a bright new year!
