Hi, everyone!
So... Stuff has happened, though nothing earth shattering. My dad's out of the hospital and doing much better. He was staying with one of his sisters for a bit, until they were sure he was all right to be on his own, and now he's gone back to his place. So, yay!
Purchased the tickets to England last night. A slight change in the dates, so that we'll be leaving on the 21st and returning the 31st. Rather than try to cram all 4 of us into my sister's flat, we'll be staying in a hotel. Found a lovely place that is in a good location for an amazing price, so we've got that all booked. Now all I have to do is submit my vacation time, which I can do in a week or two.
In other news, I bought a netbook yesterday!
I was hoping it would be a bit cheaper, but it's the one I've had my eye on for a while, and it was $20 less than the usual price, so overall not a bad deal. I also purchased a wireless router, so now I can lay on the couch or in bed and still stay connected. I love working from home, but after sitting for 8 hours in my chair, I don't want to sit for another few hours while I play.
So, now I'm pretty much broke, lol. I have my money set aside for the trip, and hopefully will be able to save up a bit more, but I have to be really good and not spend money I don't have. Since I'm not getting Christmas presents for anyone other than my mom's roommate this year and a few kids from the giving tree at work, that shouldn't be a problem. I figure I just have to make sure my bills are paid and then the extra can go toward the trip.
Not much else happening. Had a lovely Thanksgiving with my mom. It was just the two of us, so it was very relaxed and fun. We ate a lot of food and watched movies and went for a nice walk with her pug. I may make turkey soup with the turkey carcass today. Hmmmm, turkey soup!
Other than that, not really much else going on. I'm going to see Hugo with a friend I haven't seen in a while, and then maybe putting up the Christmas stuff today. I have a rare 3 day weekend, so I want to get things out of the way before work goes crazy. Well, crazier than usual.
Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and a wonderful weekend to all those who didn't have a turkey day. How are you all doing?
