Ups and downs
Aug. 24th, 2012 02:00 pmMy dad's in hospital again. I've talked to his nurse and doctor, and both say he's stable and will be moving to a regular room soon. I hope that I'll be able to talk to him tomorrow, but for now, while he's in ICU, I have to rely on what the nurse says. I found out on Saturday when my cousin posted a message to my Facebook. Sigh.
Other than that, not much going on. I spent Wednesday morning filling out applications and mailing them in. I had a horrible headache and just felt yucky, so I stayed in mostly and caught up on some TV. Thursday I went to the county fair, which was fun. The friend I was supposed to go with wasn't feeling well so I went by myself, but that was OK. I rode the Flying Bobs (my favorite ride!) the carousal, and went down the big slide. I had some huckleberry ice cream, and then was bad and had a corn dog. (Bad wheat, but ohhhhh so good!) I didn't stay long, but it was nice for a few hours.
Last night I was watching Rachel Maddow when a commercial for Wounded Warriars came on. Imagine my surprise when they profiled a buddy of mine from Basic. If you want, the commerical can be found: here Alan is a sweetheart, and I'm glad I got to go through Basic with him. I was lucky in that there were a lot of good people training with me. *Raises glass to them all*
