piplover: (Hello Adipose)

Sorry I haven't posted recently. I'm really trying not to complain, and with the exception of the bathroom flooding, things have been in a more or less fixed sate of ugh.  I'm working on it.  :)

I've started watching Sleepy Hallow.  I like it.  Haven't seen Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D yet, but I'm recording it and hope to watch the first two eps tomorrow.  Also, anyone else watching Face Off?  I love that show, it's so nice to see contestants actually helping each other and not being total dick bags.  Plus, it's amazing to see what they create.

The new Hobbit trailer came out today!  Yay!  I can't wait until Dec 13th. I'm taking a day off work so I can go to the midnight screening.  Plus, the extended edition of the Hobbit will be out in Nov I think. I already have mine ordered!

Hmm.  Not much else to report.

Oh, my wrist has started to act weird. It's hurting along my pinky finger all the way down to my wrist, and whenever I move my pinky I can feel the bones grind and pop.  It's never done this before, and it's gone from a dull ache to a constant burning.  I was hoping it would go away on it's own, but now my hand feels all.... floppy. Like it doesn't want to do what it's supposed to do, so I'm going to the doc tomorrow.  Sigh.  Oh, well.

OK, enough whining. What else am I looking forward to?  I've talked to my realtor and we decided I'm going to wait until I get my taxes back to seriously start house hunting. That gives me time to save up a bit more and to take the first time home buyer class which qualifies me for a grant of $4000.  So, hopefully, in Jan or Feb I'll be able to buy a house. I'm excited!

Oh, also!!  I've decided to go back to school.  I'm looking into which college I want to go to, but I'm going to be getting a degree in Criminal Justice.  I've thought about this for a while and talked it over with my mom, and we both agreed after looking into it that it would open a lot of doors for me, and give me a chance at a real career, rather than just another job.  So, yeah.  Hopefully I'll be able to get my ducks in a row and start in Spring.  Wish me luck!

And on that note, I'm gonna head to bed. My wrist really hurts and 4:50 comes awfully early.  Night all!

4:50 really does come awfully early. Pippin must be quite puzzled by her mommy getting both of us up so early.

*loves and hugs*

Great to hear from you!

Your house-hunting plan sounds great! You are really being organized about it, which should help you find something great.

A Criminal Justice degree sounds interesting! What sorts of careers can you use that with? Do you have something specific in mind?

Ouch! I hope your wrist turns out to be something easily fixable.

Yay for going back to school! A degree in Criminal Justice sounds interesting, and it does open a lot of doors.

*Hugs you tight!*

I find myself getting up at 5 even on my days off, and then promptly pulling the covers over my head to go back to sleep! After feeding the cats, of course, lol. Now that it's dark when I get up, I see many cups of tea in my future.

Yay for pics! I can't wait!

4:50 is so early it's almost late. I'm not a morning person, and it's a battle some days to drag my butt out of bed.

I'm getting excited about the thought of going back to school and can't wait. I know it will be hard, but totally worth it!

I'm glad I decided to take my time and be really thorough about the house hunting. It's mostly a matter of having the money at hand and being prepared to just dive in when I do!

I'm hoping that I can use the degree to become a private investigator. I don't need it to do so, but it will greatly increase my chances of getting onto a firm.

Had a doctors appointment today and she thinks it's just sprained. They took x-rays and blood just to be on the safe side, but the pictures didn't show anything, and I'm pretty sure the bloodwork will come back not showing anything, either. In the meantime, I get to keep it in the brace, ice it, and take Aleve!

I'm looking forward to the actual school part, but getting all signed up and everything is a pain in the butt!

I wondered. A friend of mine parlayed her CJ degree into a job as a parole officer for several years, and a lot of people use such a degree to get jobs in security positions. But a PI would be awesome!

A sprain is distinctly better than most of the alternatives, but sprains HURT. *winces in sympathy*

I think they make school registration a secret administrative hazing. :)
