I know it's been a long while since I last posted.  I guess a lot has happened, and yet it feels like not much has happened at all.

I supposedly got a raise at work, which I'm still waiting to see go through.  [livejournal.com profile] nodbear, amazing person that she is, managed to get tickets to next year's Hamlet with Benedict Cumberbatch, so I am planning to fly out across the pond to visit and see that.  I'm really excited, and use that to carry me through whenever things get too down.

My house is coming along fine.  My mom came over the other day and helped me whack the bushes and one particular tree into shape.  It now resembles a yard rather than a jungle.  I'm hoping to post some pictures soon.

Also, I took a second job as a caretaker, to help cover some bills and make things a bit easier.  I don't have very much free time now,  but it's worth it to be able to have a little extra money set aside on payday.

On the downside, two friends of mine are currently in hospital. One with pancreatic cancer, another who suffered a stroke.  The second isn't expected to recover.  I lost a childhood friend a few months ago, to Kidney Cancer.  This year is turning out harder than I thought it would.

I thought I had more to say, but can't really think of anything.  I hope you're all doing well, and I have been following your blogs.  I just don't always have time to reply.  Take care, everyone!

*Hugs*

Hi! Maybe we will meet next year :) I'm off next Monday to visit dear nodbear, my Admiral :), and we will see Martin Freeman in Richard III.

You're right about thinking of Benedict and Hamlet when things are rough :) That's what keeps me going too.

A nice looking garden is always satisfying. Finished nowing the lawn a minute ago and will reward myself with sausage, potatoes and salad, maybe some sweets.

Reading through old wtw stuff too. Awwww... Feels like a long lost love...

Thinking of you and RDJudeforever!!!

It will be great to see you and it is possible you may meet though I have two sets of tickets ( And before anyone comes to get me I mean two sets of three,I have not somehow got more than the allowed 6 maximum)

so it may depend whether you are both at the same performance -it would be fun certainly if it works out this way.

we can plan it soon snd then you will have it to look forward to even more directly .

lovely news about your garden and in a sense about the extra income too = but careful of yourself and don;t over do it too hard.

thinking of you too - and see you(and Benedict) in 2015!

I like amaraal's self reward scheme as described above :)

Heee! That would be nice. It will be fun to get together with other fannish people and just have fun. I need to do more of that. Right now it's just work, work, work.

I just keep reminding myself of the end game... Lovely Benedict in Hamlet.

I can't wait to see you again. We're going to have so much fun seeing Benedict, and I would love to go to the archives again. I'm trying not to work too much, but it's hard when all the bills keep piling up and there isn't enough money to spread around. I just keep telling myself that it will all work out and everything will be all right.

Agreed. That would really be great :) Actually we, Heather and I, are sitting here in Newport in Heather's house. We visited her aunt today and did a bit shopping.

Friday it will be Martin Freeman in Richard III.! But looking forward also to Benedict in Hamlet. Heather told me tickets are at 500 pounds on the black market already :)

Thinking of you and don't forget to have fun and being selfish a bit! Hat off for working as a caretaker also. It can be fun to help other people.

Hobbits forever :)

I'm so sorry about your friends. And so pleased that other areas of your life seem to be getting onto a more even keel.
