SGA Depression

piploverSpoilers for anyone not having heard about season 4 for SGA. Please don't read below the cut if you are spoiler free.
Is anyone else totally depressed with the direction SGA is going? I was reading Molloztie's blog, and he mentions that they wanted to do a story ark where McKay was a daddy to Katie Brown's baby. Sigh. It's bad enough that RL is pregnant and they decided to incorporate that into the show. The team dynamic is going to change so much, but at least I can kind of understand their reasoning. But making McKay a daddy? That means they'll probably be pushing the Katie Brown thing pretty hard this next season, and that pisses me off. I watch the show because of the team interaction, not because I want to watch a soap opera. What would be the point of having McKay a dad? Where the hell do they get the idea this would be a good thing? In all of SG1, the one character they got pregnant was Vala, and look how that turned out. Not to mention Daniel's kid, and Jack's. Kids and the SG are just a bad thing! BAD!!!! Nothing good has ever, ever come of having a kid being introduced.
I'm just really depressed now, because even if SGA is renewed for a season 5, which I seriously doubt, I don't think I will watch it if this the direction they want to go. And that sucks, because SGA is so much a part of my life. I just....I want my show back.
