Over sixty years ago today a massive movement was made to stop an evil the likes of which the world had never seen before. So many young men gave their lives in that push, let us hope the world does not forget them, nor what they fought for.

If at all possible, anyone with the means should go to Normandy and walk on the beaches. We went to Sword and Omaha, and to Juno where the Canadians landed. There is a weight of history there like you've never known. Particularly in the cemetaries. It was astonishing how at home Big D and I felt, as Canadians, stepping onto the soil at the one of the Canadian cemetaries, it truly is Canadian soil.
