I suck

Classes started again yesterday, and since then I have had three candy bars, two bags of chips, and two McDonald's cheeseburgers. I am completely disgusted with myself.

It's not even like I was scraping through the vending machines because I didn't have time to grab food. It's been more along the lines of me looking at the nine textbooks I had to buy yesterday and thinking, "Oh, shit! Where's the chocolate?"

Does anyone have any hints on how to stop this? I know I eat when I get stressed, and I can already tell that this semester is going to be bad. I really don't want to gain back the weight I lost, but I seem to have no self control lately.

Gods, what do I do?

First, quit beating yourself up.

Second, finished whatever chocolate or junkfood you have, commiting yourself to full enjoyment of every moresel, or give it away or trash it.

Third, look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself that you are beautiful and that you love you. Just DO IT! Say it again if you don't believe it. Then believe it.

Fourth, carry snacks with you that are good for you. I recommend macadamia nuts, because they're easy to carry, don't melt in your pocket, won't attract insects if you leave them in your backback in the sun, and because they are filling and taste yummy. Don't buy any more junk food. If it helps, don't carry any change for the vending machines.

Have some food that you can indulge yourself on in your home/dorm/quarters. I favour green seedless grapes. I buy them even when they are stupidly expensive, because they are better for me than bon-bons or donuts.

Remember that you have control! (((Pipsqueak)))

Go back and have another go in the mirror. See? You are beautiful! Even Jack thinks so!

That is wonderful advice, thank you! I never would have thought of the macadamia nuts, but I absolutely love them, and they are healthy and won't melt. I do have grapes at the house, but my major week times are when I'm at school and at work, where there is just so much bad stuff for me.

I did look at myself in the mirror and forced myself to tell me I'm beautiful. I still have trouble believing it, but I will keep doing it until it gets easier.

Thank you so much for this!
