Classes started again yesterday, and since then I have had three candy bars, two bags of chips, and two McDonald's cheeseburgers. I am completely disgusted with myself.
It's not even like I was scraping through the vending machines because I didn't have time to grab food. It's been more along the lines of me looking at the nine textbooks I had to buy yesterday and thinking, "Oh, shit! Where's the chocolate?"
Does anyone have any hints on how to stop this? I know I eat when I get stressed, and I can already tell that this semester is going to be bad. I really don't want to gain back the weight I lost, but I seem to have no self control lately.
Gods, what do I do?

Date: 2007-08-22 02:17 am (UTC)Water. No, really. The price of any piece of junk food is eight ounces of water. Every time. Fills you up and keeps you hydrated.
Good healthy snacks are a good idea, and limit the amount of cash in your pocket however you can. No money makes it easier to avoid spending a lot on junkfood.
Remember that classes starting probably means that you're actually burning more calories per day between stress and just running around from place to place. Either increase the size of your meals accordingly or make yourself a junk food allowance for the calories and caffeine. Limit it by servings or dollar amount, whichever works best for you.
Keep track of your food budget. Nothing cuts into the junk food cravings like knowing that it cost you twenty dollars to feed your sweet/fat/salt tooth last week...
*hugs* Hey, you noticed the problem early on! Gives you a better chance of beating the habit before it gets engrained.

Date: 2007-08-22 06:01 am (UTC)I do keep a record of everything that I eat, but the past few days I've been terrible and haven't written anything down. I will start again tomorrow.
Thank you!
