Earlier today I made the stupid mistake of answering the door to a salesman.  He had some cool products so I let him in.  I am an idiot!  After about ten minutes he started touching me, on the arm, my hip, he even touched my leg!   I told him I wasn't interested in buying anything, but he pulled the "I don't speak good English" card and pretended he didn't understand.  I told him I couldn't afford anything and wasn't going to buy anything, so he could leave.

He asked me out.  I told him no.  At this point, I know I should have told him to get the hell out of my apartment and never come back, but I was still trying to be polite and told him I didn't want to buy anything.  He gave me his number, put me down on his possible future client list, and then finally left.

Well, about an hour ago he came back.  And rang my doorbell.  And called me four times when I didn't answer.  Then rang the doorbell another couple of times.  And just stood outside my door.

I called the police and my mom, because all my Army training aside, the first thing I think of when I'm scared is to call my mom.  The guy left for a few minutes, called me a few more times, then came back to ring the bell a few more times.  Luckily, that was when the police showed up and told him to never darken my doorstep again.  I had to laugh when one officer asked the guy, "Does your wife know you're a pervert?"

So hopefully, that is the end of that strange saga, and I can go back to being my regular stupid self, only without opening the door to salespeople.  Sorry, salespeople, but I'm a poor college student, anyway.

I'm still shaking.

:o *snuggles you tight* I'm glad you had the good sense to kick him out when you did, and then called the police...that was very smart thinking of you under extreme pressure! I'm proud of you dear <33 You poor thing, just do something nice and relaxing to calm yourself a little, it's over now *hugs* I hope you feel better soon!

I only wish I had been more forcefull when I kicked him out. I know I'm too trusting sometimes, and I just have to thank whatever deity is looking out for me that nothing bad happened. I am now eating a bowl of chocolate peanut butter ice cream and snuggling my cats.

{{{hugs}}} Good for you, for calling the police. Let's hope it makes him think twice before he pulls that crap on anyone else.

I hope so. He seemed harmless at first, until he started to put the moves on me and asked me where I worked and if I lived alone. Then he seriously started to creep me out. The police said if he showed up again they would arrest him, so hopefully he won't try this again.

*Shudder*

Yikes!
I had an experience awhile back when a guy kept knocking on my door and I yelled at him that I wasn't interested but he kept knocking. Finally I grabbed the hugest knife I had in the kitchen and opened the door with it in my hand. He backed right off and babbled something about just wanting to sell some tickets to some local sport event or whatever and finally got the hint I wasn't a sport fan and left.

It's scary being a single female sometimes. It makes you want a big barky dog.

LOL! Way to go! I'm pretty sure I won't be answering my door for anyone I don't know again. You would think I wouldn't be so freaked by someone ringing my doorbell and calling my phone, but it was like something out of a horror movie. I can certainly get behind the big dog idea!

That sounds horrifying! *hugs* Yeesh, kiddo. Be careful there - I know you will from now on.

Absolutely! This gave me a wake up call, and it makes me sick when I think of what could have happened!

Yeah, it was a huge lesson. A lot of things could have gone wrong, and I'm very lucky. Now I know better, and I hope others will learn from my mistake.

Holy shit, that's terrifying! I'm glad you called the police - too many people think things like that aren't important enough.

Note to self: don't let strangers into my house. Gah.

Yeah, it scared the crap out of me. I did actually hesitate to call the police, because I kept thinking, I'm just being silly, he'll go away. And then he didn't! I'm glad I did call, because maybe this will stop him from doing this to someone else.

I'm glad it worked out for you, too. It was a sureal experience, almost like something out of a horror movie. Ick!

That's scary stuff. You made a very smart decision, calling the police. I hope that creep'll leave you alone from now on. I'm glad we don't really have that many door to door salesmen here and those few there are don't expect to be invited in, because we Dutch don't do that. But that doesn't mean I've never encountered a rude and obnoxious salesman. Once a man, after I shut the door in his face because he didn't take no for an answer, kept shouting at me.

Oh, wow, how rude of the guy! Unfortunately, we have a lot of salesmen in this area, but I think that is the last one I open the door for. Looking back, I'm kicking myself for not calling the police sooner, although the timing ended up working out for the best. If I ever see him again, I won't hesitate to call again, lol.
