I got my boxset of Kung Fu: The Legend Continues today, by way of China. It's in English, and really good quality for being an "Adashi" copy, as we used to call them in Korea. I forgot how deliciously cheesy this series was, and am having a grand time watching it and laughing hilariously. It's the whole series, all 80 or so eps, and I can see much enjoyment in my future. Oh, 90s, how I miss your cheesy dialogs and effects.

Oh man! My late mother-in-law loved that show. We used to watch every afternoon, on top volume, as she was hard of hearing. We liked it too, though.

It was definitely cheesy, but there was something about it--nostalgia I guess, and the connection to the old version I suppose.

David Carradine seemed to fit back into his old role, like it was a nice old comfy pair of slippers, and he had great chemistry with Chris Potter. I loved Kermit!

I used to watch it every day it was on, too. I had never seen the original until after I had seen TLC, but I loved the characters anyway.

I love the chemistry between David Carradine and Chris Potter, I think that was what drew me into the show. And Kermit totally rocked, lol!

That show was hysterically bad. Kermit was the least-scary assassin I'd ever met. And the Ancient. Oh my God! The man couldn't walk a straight line and he kicked everyone's ass. I watched it compulsively. It had to have some sort of subliminal messaging in the signal somewhere. No other explanation.

I can't stop laughing just thinking about it. That poor kid who played wee!Peter with his wacky-ass rubber bald-head. *cackles*

Yes, yes, exactly, and how every other line in the first season was some kind of mystic message. But I loved the cheesy plots and it did have some great moments.

I've spent several hours cackling and remembering how much I loved the cheesiness of it, including the false bald heads!

Also, it had David Hewlett in it, which can never be a bad thing.

I vaguely remember that but I have no idea what role he played. It's been a long-ass time. *snickers uncontrollably* Poor drug-addled David Carradine.

*FLAILS* I LOVED KF:TLC!!! *cackles* That show was my first official obsession of the TV world, the first show I ever read fanfic for, the first show I actually - sadly, arranged my schedule around so I wouldn't miss it. *snerk*

::pets Chris Potter/Peter:: He will forever be remembered as my first real TV crush. *snerk*

I'm so disappointed that they haven't released this series on DVD here in Canada yet. *sigh* I would totally buy ALL of the season. *grins*

I know! I used to clean houses when I was in high school to make ends meet, and I would watch it with one lady as I swept and stuff. I have tapes that I recorded of it, but they kind of faded, even if the commercials are hilarious.

*Looks shifty*

Well, the set wasn't released in the US either. I had to go through China, lol. But the quality is really good, and it's set up like a regular DVD. And it only cost me 57 dollars. Which is more than I should be spending now, but - but - Kung Fu!!!

I'm being sucked back into the fandom, trying to find some good fic. There's not a lot, but some of it is amazing. This? Was totally worth the money!

Mwahaha! If I had $57 to spend I'd probably be pretty tempted to snag a copy myself but with the currency rate at the moment that would be way too much Canadian. ;)

Heh! I used to read off of these ancient mailing lists. I don't even remember where anymore. Many moons before I even considered slash ;) so I was a Peter/Jody shipper. *snerk*

Enjoy!! *G* I'm totally jealous! :P

Hehehe, you read het! I could never really get into Peter/anybody, and now I'm totally a slasher - it still doesn't work for me, lol. Oh, well. If you want to check out the site I got mine from, here's the link. Just to wet your appetite. *snicker*

Doh! Helps if I add the link, lol!

LOL! I did. *snerk* The whole pining thing Jody had going on for him was just too reminiscent of crushes I had. ;) I was rooting for her to win Peter in the end. *G*

*flails* OMG it's ALL the seasons for that price!!! O.o Okay, OMG the temptation is SO great right now!!! @_@

There's no subtitles or anything right? And you said the episodes were in good quality. The DVDs, do they look like burned copies or do they actually look halfway professional?

::bites nails:: $60 Canadian for the WHOLE series is really, really, REALLY tempting. *ponders* Was the shipping a lot? I know it will be different for Canada but I'd like a general idea of how much the shipping was.

::stares at bank account and whines:: But....PETER!!!

Hahahah, another convert! In all, I paid 58 dollars. For everything! And the DVDs are pretty good, it's the same quality as if you were watching it on TV. There aren't any subtitles or anything, although there is a little tiny icon in the right corner, like you would see on TV. Not sure if it's on all of them, as I've only watched the first disk. So if you could live with that, I highly recommend it.

Like I said, I paid 58 for everything, the DVDs, shipping and handling, everything. So I'm pretty happy. Let me try and take a picture and I'll put it here so you can kind of see what they look like.
