Not that I'm not loving my new job (Hee! I'm working!) But today was the first day that we actually took phone calls, and, you know, talked to real live people. I was fine until about an hour before the actual calls, and then I was a nervous wreck. They say we did all right, but seriously, it felt like my brain decided to take a sabbatical and left the building.  My very first call pretty much went like this:

Customer:  I'm confused.
Me:  Me too!
Customer:  Can you help me?
Me:  Ummmmm.... I think so?
Customer:  0_o

So, yeah.

Other than that, the day went pretty well, lol.  Oh, except for the fact that my kitty keeps peeing on the rug, arrrgggh!  I think he's pissed that I'm not here all day like he's used to, so he's taking it out.  He's peeing right next to the litter box, in the exact same spot every time!  He's done it like five times, and no matter how many times I scrub it or put pet stuff on it, he keeps going back.  I'm getting pretty mad because my apartment stinks.  Grrr.  It's not a bladder infection, he has no problem going and isn't in pain and he's not peeing anywhere else, just that one spot, where he knows I'll see it.

I had Jack in the Box for dinner tonight.  So not good for me, but it tasted so yummy!  One of the guys went there for lunch and sat right across from me.  I've been so good the past few weeks, but today I just broke down, lol.  Oh, well.

Tomorrow I will most likely do chores.  I really have to clean the apartment and do laundry.  But first?  Sleeping in!  Getting up at 5 is totally not my thing!

Talk to you all later!

Dr. Elsey's Cat Attract Litter is a thing of beauty. I'm not kidding. When my cats got so angry at me when I moved last time they peed in this weird spot in the hallway, so I cleaned it with an enzyme cleaner - I used Nature's Miracle, three times. And then I took one of those plastic things you put down on a carpet so your desk chair will roll. You know, with this little pointy bits that sink into the carpet? Yeah, I put that down with the pointy bits up until it dried, really really really well to keep the cats from going back there.

But the litter? They've never, ever missed the box again and we've moved again since then. Thing. Of. Beauty.
Hope it helps. Naughty kitty!
Love, hugs and Lucky Charms,

Snicker. That does sound brilliant. I have put down the plastic stuff around the litter box, because they tend to make a mess and they've done this before, but I haven't tried the pointy side up. I think I will have to do that when the spot dries!

The little owey dance they did the first time they tried to walk on it was hysterical. In that "I'm a horrible person" kind of way.

Glad you are settling in at work! It is kind of nerve-wracking the first time you have to actually deal with customers, isn't it?

The following may be TMI:

Our cat got rather incontinent when he got old. We just kind of gave up on trying to get him to pee in his box, and after he died, we had to replace all our carpet. But the funniest thing he did, was when he crapped, he would sit on the edge of his box with his rear end hanging out. Of course, it would go just outside his box. Then he would carefully scratch in the litter to "cover it up" when it wasn't even there.

I'm glad your day went well. My first day as a telephone operator/receptionist was very nerve wracking too, especially because the woman who was supposed to help me settle in wasn't there, as her grandmother had passed away. But I'm sure you'll feel confident soon enough :-)
