Sometimes bad things happen on a good day

Good news:
Things with Boy 1 and Boy 2 have been worked out. Boy 1 was not being drama king, but being very sweet friend who saw Boy 2 was interested and wanted to let him have his shot. Of course, the way he went about it left something to be desired, but it's the thought that counts, right?
Boy 2 is very sweet and has said he would like to continue dating. I agreed, though am a bit leery. It's been so long since I dated I'm not sure I'm really ready to trust someone again. I want to take my time and get to know him, see how we click. So far, he has been very sweet and geeky. Boy 2, it turns out, has a physics degree, and is even geekier than me. \0/
Had weekly meeting with boss and was told I was only the only member of my team that had reached the weekly goals this week. Yay! I got a reward of bubbles and a sticker, and she told me she was very impressed that my numbers are looking so good for only being on the floor for a month. My hopes of possibly being converted to full time regular are slightly better.
Mom came home from her vacation to CA. She looked happy and had lots of stories, so I'm happy.
Bad news:
Broke the frames of my glasses today. Lucky for me, Boy 2 was there and managed to glue them back together. I have to go in tomorrow and try to get new frames, which hopefully won't cost an arm and a leg. Sigh. I guess that's what credit cards are for.
Money is tight the next few weeks, so have to figure out a way to pay for glasses, car repair extra, insurance, rent, and groceries. I suppose I can live off pasta, tuna and peas. Top Ramen, I love you, but you have so much salt!
That's about all I have for now. Heading to bed, you all take care.

Date: 2009-06-30 07:48 am (UTC)And YAY! about Boy 1 and Boy 2. Can I just pause here and say that every time I read that I have a Dr. Seuss moment? Thing 1 and Thing 2 all over again? Anyway, yay! And boo about the glasses. I hate it when crap like that happens. It's why I switched to plastic frames and mostly I wear contacts. I've been in glasses since I was 12 and contacts since I was 18. The perils of astigmatism.
Oh well! Here's hoping for a good week and work at home and most importantly, at the grocery store.

Date: 2009-07-01 06:11 am (UTC)*Snicker* Yes, Boy 1 and Boy 2 are Thing 1 and Thing 2 in my head, as well. I almost referred to Boy 2 as such earlier, though restrained myself. Oh, brain, the trouble you can get me into!
Have an eye appointment tomorrow, since I'm pretty sure my perscription needs to be updated, anyway. Hopefully it won't cost an arm and a leg, and the old glasses will hold me over until I can get new ones.

Date: 2009-07-01 06:13 am (UTC)The glasses are holding up, but I have an eye appointment tomorrow, because I think my prescription needs to be updated anyway. Here's hoping that the glassed continue to hold until I can afford the frames, lol!

Date: 2009-06-30 10:51 am (UTC)Now the most important question of all about "geeky Boy 2": How does he feel about LotR and Hobbits? *grin*
And you would be surprised how long you can wear glued glasses frames. You may not have to buy those immediately.
(Boxed mac 'n' cheese is cheap, too. You can chop up cheap hot dogs to put in it, or put ground meat or tuna in it, like Hamburger or Tuna Helper, and costs about three-fourths less.) Still high in sodium though not quite so bad as Ramen noodles.

Date: 2009-07-01 06:15 am (UTC)Ohh, I like the idea of boxed mac'n'cheese. And hot dogs are cheep, so that could make for some good meals. Thanks!
