It snowed last night and the night before, which was wonderful, as I love snow. And then it rained this morning, even though it's still below freezing.
I didn't think the roads were too terrible, so when I got out of my car at work and headed into the building I didn't really think of how slippery the road was. Until I slipped and did a nose dive.
Nothing hurt, but my pants got wet and my hand got a bit of a scrape, so I figured when I got off my shift, which was only 3 hours today, I would go home and just take a nap and all would be well with the world.
Then I got a call from my friend around 4 wanting me to come over for hot chocolate and to brainstorm Christmas ideas.
As soon as I stepped off the stairs leading into my apartment my foot slipped from under me and I went ass over teakettle. It took me a few seconds to get my wits again and realize I hadn't brained myself, and then I slid my way to my car and all was good.
Now I'm sitting with a heating pad on my back and a hydro in my system to ward off the worst of the pain.
Sigh.
I don't want to go to work tomorrow, because right now the idea of standing for 10 hours just makes me want to curl up and pull the blanket over my head.
Sooooo... How are you all doing? I hope everyone is having a much less ice-ladden day than I, and you can all stay safe and warm tonight.
Hugs!
