Went with my mom to see Sherlock Holmes today and OMG I loved it!

Let me just say that I am one of those people who can see Holmes/Watson in either a very close friendship or a slash relationship, and I loved how they seemed to walk the line in this movie.  The love they shared for each other was very apparent, and the h/c left me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside!

Holmes loss at Watson's leaving was at once funny and sad, because you could tell that he was going to be utterly lost without the doctor there to keep him on track.  Also, I loved how they showed that it wasn't just a one way street, that Holmes took care of Watson as well, such as with his gambling and keeping his money for him so he wouldn't get into trouble.

I thought I would not like Mary, but she was very well done, and I felt that her love for Watson in no way impeded the love Watson had for Holmes.

Also, the banter was funny as hell!

All in all, I think I will definitely be seeing this again, probably on New Years day, as that is my next day off, lol.  This is totally going to be a DVD I will buy.

It was brilliant! I adored how they portrayed Watson, you could tell he was a soldier who had been injured but could keep up with Holmes no problem. And I really liked Holmes, I think the episode with the flies demonstrated perfectly why exactly Holmes needs his Watson to watch out for him!

I loved this movie to excess. It was just awesome. *thinks* RDJ does crazed, immature, drunken asses quite well, doesn't he? Do you think that's typecasting?

Also, is it just me or was the little red-headed cop hysterical? Seriously funny.

I just want to hug that movie and squeeze it. Maybe call it George.

This movie was awesome! I think you're right about RDJ, but he does do those characters brilliantly! And the cop was hilarious! Honestly, I can't wait to see it again. I just wish some of you from my flist could see it with me so we could all squee together!

Unfortunately, people frown if you text furiously during a movie. It's very sad.

I posted a bit of a review (pouts) I really must post and comment more - no one read it...but my life is so boring...

I so agree. It was absolutely amazing and I cannot wait for more of these. We're seeing it again New Years eve. It's a rollicking adventure and the H/C - squee!

And about your comment on my review - gasp - a movie that can reconcile slashers and non-slashers? I have my Christmas miracle! :) There is so much to love about this movie. I think I have to write me a couple of missing scenes! Plot bunnies ho!
