Today was safety day. This means we got to sit through five hours of such -er- fascinating lectures as propper tire pressure and the importance of drip pans.
*shakes head in the vain attempt to regain some lost braincells*
After we broke for lunch, we went to a safety fair, and that was actually kind of cool. There was a guy doing acupuncture, and I managed to work up the nerve and ask him to do something for my depression. I ended up wandering around with a needle stuck in my head and chest for about 10 minutes. But it worked, there was no pain, and it was hilariouse to see people's reactions. I feel great now.
I got my friend to try it, and even though he was hesitant at first, he admitted that he had not felt so relaxed in a long long time.
There were several people too, who were getting it done. It was great, seeing all these people walking around with needles in their heads and hands and the back of their necks. We looked like robots in uniforms!

Glad the needles worked and sorry that you had to sit through a full day of lectures. What a way to make sure that people don't absorb the info!

In the Air National Guard we had a safety lecture (on a different topic each time) every drill weekend, but it's not hard to pay attention for twenty minutes...

Some of the lectures would have been intersting if we hadn't heard them like fifteen times before. The lightening safety one is always electrifying to sit through, and the suicide prevention I have heard at least six times since I got here in October. Oh, well. We were able to sit down for them, at any rate, and a candy bowl kept mysteriously refilling itself. Sugar always makes things more bearable.

Unfortunately someone told the brass that repetition is the only way to get information so ingrained that it feels natural to know it...

True, but boring.

I suppose if anyone actually paid attention it would work. However, after seeing all the bobbing heads and glazed eyes, I can already tell that another saftey day is in the making.
