Today was safety day. This means we got to sit through five hours of such -er- fascinating lectures as propper tire pressure and the importance of drip pans.
*shakes head in the vain attempt to regain some lost braincells*
After we broke for lunch, we went to a safety fair, and that was actually kind of cool. There was a guy doing acupuncture, and I managed to work up the nerve and ask him to do something for my depression. I ended up wandering around with a needle stuck in my head and chest for about 10 minutes. But it worked, there was no pain, and it was hilariouse to see people's reactions. I feel great now.
I got my friend to try it, and even though he was hesitant at first, he admitted that he had not felt so relaxed in a long long time.
There were several people too, who were getting it done. It was great, seeing all these people walking around with needles in their heads and hands and the back of their necks. We looked like robots in uniforms!

Well, I'm more afraid of things now than when I was little. I became more shy. Why? (And a funny fact: my brother is scared of spiders!)

I guess that the more we learn, the more we realize that maybe some of the things we did were not quite the smartest. At least in my case.

Oh yes, once some friends and I build a fire somewhere outside, and a lock of my hair got on fire. That was stupid. And I have done lots of other stupid things besides that.

Oh, yes. I remember cutting myself on a knife because I wondered how sharp it was. Duh! And always I had scraped knees and dirty hands from rolling in the dirt and playing soldeir with my little brother. Now here I am, a real soldier, and hating to get dirty! Amazing how time changes us!

Yes it is. I was a real tomboy groing up. Well I'm still not the most femenine person, but at least a lot more "ladylike".

The completely ironic thing is that I am more ladylike and enjoy more feminin things now than before I joined the Army. I think I am compensating for having to go days at a time without a bath and covered in grime. I don't mind doing my job and getting filthy with the boys, but really, I enjoy a good bubble bath and lotion as much as the next girl.

Yes, that is ironic.
