I am thankful...
Nov. 24th, 2004 10:10 pmToday was actually a pretty good day. We got off early, which was a total shock, and they had Thanksgiving dinner in the defac tonight. The officers and senior cadre served us dinner, and service members brought their families to enjoy the meal.
I dragged my friend with me since he was trying to seclude himself in his room, and we both stuffed ourselves with turkey, rolls, stuffing, pumpkin pie, and mashed potatoes. Yummy!
And tomorrow I go over to a friend's house to have dinner with her and her family, along with several people. She's a great cook, so I am really looking forward to what she is coming up with. That, and right across the street from her is our Plt Sgt, so a bunch of us plan on just going from house to house, eating our fill, lol.
Even though I am not with my family, I am with my friends, and I know that I will enjoy tomorrow. Getting to sleep in, eating a lot of really good food, and having fun with friends.
I am very thankful for all that I have, and especially for all my friends on LJ, who have always been there when my life was looking like it would be better suited to something you find in the sewer.
I hope all my fellow Americans have a wonderful day tomorrow, and enjoy themselves to the fullest.
Happy Thanksgiving!
