Hello, all! I hope everyone is having a lovely day.  For my fellow Americans, I hope your Labor Day is a nice day off.  If you have it off. And if you don't, I hope you get paid loads for working today.

I - in a fit of boredom and wanting something to do, dyed my hair red.  Which didn't go exactly as planned.  I'm not sure what happened, since I'm pretty sure I completely saturated my hair with the color.  But there are long streaks of my regular color, so I think I may have to go back and buy another box and just completely soak my head in it.  It doesn't look bad, and I like the color.  But - I feel a bit like a zebra.

Also, making my very first roast in the crockpot today.  Not sure how it's going to turn out, since the crockpot is smaller than I remembered, and i in order to get the potatoes, onions and carrots in the pot, I had to put the roast in first and then fill it with water.  So now the roast is totally submerged.  Hrrrrmmm.  I'm thinking it may be more like a soup than a roast.  Oops.

Anyway, not much going on.  I'm going to try and work some more on my story.  I'm at 47000 words now, and it is by far the longest story I have ever written.  Only the boys have been rather silent lately, and I'm not sure why.  Have to try and pry the story out of my head.  Chocolate should be an appropriate bribe to the muse.

And speaking of which, kind of, I'm going to check out eliptical machines today.  I have trouble getting to the gym because of my schedule, and an eliptical is one of the things I can use for hours and not have it aggravate my knee or back.  Hopefully my stomach will get with the program, too.    But for now I'm just looking at prices and sizes and such.  I have the perfect place for it, and honestly, I know that if I spend money on it, I will work my butt off, literally.  So, yeah.  The goal is to lose 30 pounds by March.  We'll see if I can get there.  I'm already trying to eat right and cutting out a lot of junk and stuff. But the exercise is the one thing I really have to work on. Wish me luck!

Have a great day, everyone!

I always end up with the same patch of hair not coloured when I dye it. I have tried slathering it and leaving it for four hours, and nothing has ever worked except really good 'stripping' shampoo. I am told washing one's hair in white vinegar also works.

And good luck with the weight loss - but don't stress over it, okay?

I managed to get most of it re-dyed today. It looks a lot more even and I love it! It's not exactly a natural red, but it's not fire engine, either, lol.

And I'll be good about the weight loss. I'm just the biggest I've ever been, and sick of it. So I'm going to take steps to try and bring myself back down.

Happy Labor Day!

And I really recommend for home gym stuff that you figure out what kind you want, and then keep an eye on Craig's list or in the want ads. I got a great barely-used rowing machine for half of store price.

I don't know if I really trust Craig's list. The past few times I've tried to search for things or tried to buy something, it went horribly wrong. But I found a pretty good elliptical for 150$ that I want to get, so I'm good.

I wish I could find something that didn't make my joints hurt. But some of the old self-defense exercises I used to do still work okay (my daughter the novice martial arts student thinks it's amazing that her mom can do things...I pointed out that she's way more flexible than I am...).

Is that you in that icon with Hewlett? I have one like that up on my wall from when I met him. Sigh... :)

I tried doing martial arts but it ended up hurting my back too much. I used to love the rowing machine, but that also hurt my back. The elliptical will hopefully work out.

Yes, that's me! He's so sweet!

Best of luck on the weight thing, and the hair thing too! As long as you can be at peace with whatever you have going in life, it's all good.

Hope your roast turns out well, I layer the veggies on the bottom, sprinkle in a little dry tapioca to thicken the sauce, brown the roast to seal in the juices and sit it right on top of them - pour on a can of tomato sauce and sprinkle a bit of pepper and it's ready to go. mmm. Maybe I should do a roast too...

OMG, the roast turned out soooo good! I couldn't stop eating it, lol! And then I poured all the juice into a dish and couldn't stop taking sips, it just tasted so yummy. I'm going to use it to make a gravy, though, and use it when I make mashed potatoes.

My hair looks a lot better today. The second time around really evened things out and I love it! The weight, well, I'm bigger than I've ever been, and don't like it. I'm hoping to get back to something I'm comfortable with.

I always get too many veggies and overwhelm the meat in my crockpot : (

How did yours turn out?

OMG, it turned out soooo good! I think I may have to use less water next time, and put the veggies in first, but I couldn't stop eating, it tasted so good! The meat was just falling off, and the potatoes, carrots and onions were just yummy! I think I found a new favorite dish!
