Stars above light my path,
Ever as I wander,
Slow steps of even tread,
As my mind does ponder.

How the world has changed,
And faces filter past,
Hearts racing together,
Friendships lasting fast.

Wet upon my face,
Blood rushing in my ears,
Knowledge crushing shoulders,
Cheeks damp with tears.

Ever shall I wander,
Down this darkened road,
Shadows follow in my tread,
Reaping all I sowed.
