Date: 2011-03-04 09:20 pm (UTC)"Stop it," Sherlock grumbled, burying his head deeper into his pillow. "I'm trying to sleep."
"I know," Greg sighed, his lips twitching in amusement as Sherlock gave up protesting and sunk back into sleep.
He pulled the blankets up around Sherlock's shoulders and settled himself against he headboard, book in hand.
Duvet days truly were the best.

Date: 2011-03-04 10:29 pm (UTC)The pub was illuminated by several lamps and candles, filled with men relaxing with a pint before heading home or enjoying a game of cards. It was a popular pub, clean and companionable with a reputation for being without trouble.
Lestrade sat in a booth he had procured, and his motion was smooth and practiced as he signaled the doctor over.
There was a drink waiting for him, and Watson settled easily into the booth, where neither spoke for several minutes.
The chatter around them was a soothing counterpart to the rain which pounded against the walls and roof, but Watson found himself thinking longing of a warm fire and the smell of strong tobacco.
"To another year," Lestrade finally murmured, lifting his glass in memory.
Watson took a deep drink before he responded, swallowing several times around the lump in his throat.
"To another year," he agreed.
"Now, enough of that," Lestrade said harshly, setting his glass down forcefully. "You owe me a game, Doctor, and I mean to collect!"
Despite himself, Watson smiled.

Date: 2011-03-04 10:34 pm (UTC)The group of youths stared incredulously at Pippin as he sheathed his sword, grinning cheekily at the crowd which had gathered minutes before.
"And that," Pippin said, offering a hand to the boy still in the dirt, "is why it's not a good idea to have your feet placed like that. Any other questions?"
One of the group of troublemakers which had been driving the veteran guards to distraction raised his hand rather meekly.
"Can you show us that again?"
Pippin's smile grew.

Date: 2011-03-08 04:47 am (UTC)My writing muse left me a while ago and Im desperately trying to get it back. That's why I've submerged myself in reading.
Take your time. There's no rush.
