I was talking with a friend today that I haven't seen since February. We're doing a charity zombie walk in October, and we got together on my lunch break to go over some of the details.

As we were talking, he mentioned he had gone to the hospital last night for stomach pain.  I told him I could sympathize.  He started to describe his systems, and then I described mine, and we both realized... We have the exact same pain.

Oh my God.  I'm not alone!

I can't tell you how much it means to me to know that I'm not the only one with this.  After all this time, after being told it was in my head.  I don't want him to be in pain any more than he wants me, but we were both so happy to finally be validated!

Both of us have gone through the same tests and been told that nothing shows. Blood tests, ultra sounds, other tests I can't even think of.  We've both had them, and both have come up with nothing!  What the hell is wrong with us we don't know, but at least we know now that we aren't alone.

I just - I can't even describe it.  After a year and half of people telling me I'm exagerating, it's in my head, it's nothing.  Finally, someone who really understands!

... Huh. That's interesting. My friend has similar-ish symptoms to your guys, iirc. She's had some apparently pretty intense pain that she thought was an ulcer, but the doctors tell her it's nothing. :/a

That's so frustrating! When I told my friend, "It feels like someone is squeezing me sometimes, like I can't breath," his eyes got all big and he was like, "Me, too!" Does your friend feel like that, too?

It's so hard when you know something is wrong, but they can't find anything.

I hadn't asked her the specifics of the pain, so that's pretty much all I know, actually. :(

Yeah, I can only imagine.

I'm so sorry you're in pain, but I understand the relief in knowing you're not alone! What a mysterious ailment.

Thanks, hon. I don't think I would mind nearly so much if I just knew what it was. At least now I know it's not all in my head and there is something.

Is there anything you and your friend have in common in the past that might have led to this? Did you both live somewhere that there might have been contaminants or something?

Yeah, contamination is what I thought too. If you're both living in the same area...

Well... We do both live near the nuclear power plant.

We've both lived in the same town for years and years. However, as we were talking, we both realized that we do have some things in common. We both have bad backs and sciatica, and when the doctors did tests they found a tiny, insignificant cysts. Both times doctors said the cysts were totally insignificant, but now I have to wonder.
