So here's a bit of  a quandary.  My sister is graduating in January and wants at least one family member to be there for her. My brother and his fiance can't do it, which leaves my mom and I.

Now, I would love to visit my sister in Jan with my mom.  And I don't think my mom would have a problem visiting her.  The only problem is, if I go in January, I won't be able to go later in the year, I won't have as much time or money saved up, and I'll be scrambling a bit to get over there. If I can get the time off work.

Also, my mom has only ever been to Canada and Mexico, I think.  So she's never really traveled outside the US.  Neither my sister nor I wanted her to travel alone.

Hrrm.. I don't know what I'm asking, exactly.  I guess I'm just trying to puzzle this out in my head.  Do you think I should try for January, or stick to going in August or Sep? I know the Olympics are going to be this next year, so that may drive prices up even higher than they are now.  And January is pretty cheap.  But still.

I guess it will come down to if I have the time off from work and the money saved up.  But at least I can get my mom over there!

I like being spontaneous, but there's also something to be said for sticking to the plan!

Nobody knows what the future will bring. Me, I'd go in January. It might not be ideal, but it might just be fun and exciting.
