I thought I would give this a try, since I've seen some others do this. Ask me any three questions you like, and I will do my best to answer them. Doing laundry now and shining boots, so need something to keep my mind from going brain dead.
1) I think Pip is my favorite hobbit because I can relate to him so well. It seems that all my life I have always been one step behind everyone else, or in the wrong place at the wrong time. In fact, I found out after graduation of Basic Training that I had been voted most likely to fail within the first week. But like Pippin, I proved everyone wrong, and showed them that I could do it. Also, Pippin is the smallest hobbit for most of the book, and I am rather short. The shortest in my Company and in my family.
2)I started writing fics because I fell in love with the characters. There was so much love and friendship between all of them, and so much left unsaid. I have always loved to write, but have only been alerted to fanfiction within the past two years. I finally decided to give it a try when I saw Marigold's challenge, and now I am addicted.
3)The friendship between the characters. The fact that these total strangers had to come together, and depend on each other for their lives, touched me very deeply. When I was in Korea I felt the same about many of my platoon mates. They became my family, and a few of them even became the best friends I have ever known. I loved the way the story was told, but the characters were the actual pull of my heartstrings.
