OK. I've had some time to cool off, and was able to watch the complete episode.  I still am filled with rage whenever I think of the Irene Adler thing, so I'm going to skip that.  Just assume I hated about 90% of anything that had to do with her, and go from there. This review is to focus on the bits of the show I did enjoy.  So, in no particular order, and with spoilers abounding, here's my second review, with a bit more thought and hopefully less rage induced language.

I liked the resolution of the pool. It was unexpected, and again just showcased how unstable Moriarty is.

I loved Sherlock in a sheet and John with the computer and them quibbling over whether or not it was a 6 or an 8.

John's WTF face as he flies over Buckingham Palace.  And then laughing with Sherlock over his pantlessness.  And then Sherlock stole an ashtray for him!  I really liked how easy they were around each other, the fun they were obviously having, laughing at inappropriate things.  I think they've settled down and are comfortable with each other now.

Mycroft being a bit of a jerk of an older brother and removing the sheet!

The fight in the alley before meeting Irene.

Let's skip Irene so my head doesn't explode and I can continue with the things I loved.

Mrs. Hudson!  How awesome is she?  Now there's a woman who's truly strong and courageous.  I loved Sherlock and John yelling at Mycroft.  And then later, Mrs. Hudson's weepy act, and how she kept her wits about her.

And how much do I love the fact that Sherlock threw the guy out the window? A whole hell of a lot!

Also, we get Sherlock eating, and I loved how he so casually raided Mrs. Hudson's fridge.  I don't think we saw him eat a thing last season, so this was nice.

Plus, violin playing!  It was lovely to see him play, even if it wasn't actually BC who was playing. Not everyone can do everything, I'm fine with that.  I just liked they incorporated it.

And finally, because I'm a vindictive bitch who hated this Irene Adler, I loved how Sherlock made her beg.  A nice all call back to her saying she was going to make him beg, twice.  I don't think so.

So, that's my review.  I liked a lot of the show, and if it hadn't been for Irene Adler plot, I would have loved it.  I'm just looking forward to Hounds, to help take the bitter taste away.

Yup. Mrs. Hudson is just cool. And I adored how protective Sherlock was toward her (and yes, stealing her cupcakes... ;)
