piploverIt's been overcast and rainy the past few days. Colder than usual, too. I want my summer to get here!
I bought some new shoes the other day, and yesterday I wore a pair with a vintage dress. The shoes were a lovely red, and looked great! I felt beatufiul, and people kept commenting on how good I looked. It made me feel really good, as I often feel unhappy with my appearance. So, yay!
Also watched the Jubilee pageant yesterday on BBC America. I miss England so much. I emailed my sister, who had been celebrating with friends. She had to work today, but hopefully we'll be able to Skype today or tomorrow.
Oh, also! Finally was able to sell my stocks. So that money will be coming in to pad my nest. I'm going to continue working at dreaded job until I find something new. The new meds I'm on are helping with the anxiety, and I don't feel like I'm about to burst into tears every day, so that's a win in my book. Plus, it will give me time to save up some more for any emergencies.
Still. How I wish I could just quit this job.
Anyway, I hope you are all doing well, and your Mondays aren't too horrible. Take care, all.

Are you applying elsewhere? Try setting a modest goal like sending 5 resumes per week--all of 'em on a Monday or one each weekday. You'll get a call one day eventually!

Nice! What a great feeling! ^_^ I don't spend nearly enough time (or money) shopping for clothes. Too often I just grab whatever fits and covers my nudity. So when I take the time to actually find something that looks great on me, I feel like a million bucks!

Date: 2012-06-05 08:16 pm (UTC)I never used to enjoy clothes shopping, but then I was in the Army and found myself compensating for being so very much "one of the guys" during the day. I discovered lotions and makeup and heals.
Now I still wear jeans and tee shirts normally, but I've found I really enjoy dressing up every now and then.
Heeee! I love that picture! The Queen's Diamond Jubilee in England. They celebrated her 60 years of rule this weekend.
