I'm afraid I'll never find someone who will love me for who I am, and that if I do, I won't be able to love them back. I'm afraid that I'm damaged, and that letting someone in may be too hard.
I don't think it's so much courage as I am not ashamed or afraid of speaking my truth. I've been broken before, and I've been brought to my knees, but I know I'm stronger than I thought.
The hard part for most people, I think, is looking inside themselves to look for the honest faults and damage. Not to pick at them, but to work on healing them and correcting behaviors which need work.
True. It is one think to know what is 'wrong', but a completely different thing to be honest to yourself and set things in motion :) But for me is is good, it feels good, to see and to get to know that there are other people out there struggling with the same issues, the same problems - and loving chocolate :), too :)
I plan to read your 'Soldier's Heart' again. It's such a stunning piece...
