I am such a wreck today.  The company I interviewed for last week was supposed to call today and let me know where I stand, and they haven't. They close in a half hour.  I keep telling myself not to get my hopes up, and that maybe they'll call tomorrow, but I'm worried that maybe they have called and my phone didn't let it through, which it has done sometimes, because it's a piece of shit.  And now I'm worried that if they did call, and it didn't go through, they'll think I don't want the job, or aren't taking them seriously.  And that is the last thing I want them to think!  I don't even care if I get the job, which would be fantanstic if I did, but I just want to know where I stand!!

OMG, I'm going out of my mind! Why haven't they called me yet????!!!!!!

I'm hoping they may call tomorrow, since they close at 5 and it's 7:30 now. I'm more calm now that I know for certain they're not going to call, but I bet tomorrow I'm going to be a wreck again, lol.

*Hugs*

They won't call today, so I'm a bit calmer now that I know for certain I don't have to worry about it, but I'm still hoping for tomorrow.

I've been on the other side of the table a number of times, and it always turns out to take more time to be ready to make the final call than estimated. Someone in management has to sign off and is busy, reference checks take longer to call back, personnel gets all persnickety about the paperwork... something happens every time. And each time, I remind myself to add at least a week to my estimate, but it's several months before I do interviews again and I forget and underestimate again.

Which is a long way of saying don't despair! They could easily have every intention of calling you and are frustrated themselves by the delay.

I would suggest that you give them a call tomorrow. Don't pester or try to put them in a corner, but just say you wanted to thank them for the interview and their time and make sure they had all the information they needed from you. Then if they haven't been able to reach you, they can say 'omg, you finally called back,' or if they're not yet at the stage that they can offer a job, they can say, 'oh we're sorry, we've had a delay, we think it'll be Friday before we call anyone.'

A courtesy 'thank you' call is good form and then you'd know!

*****hugs*****

I figured it was probably something like that, so I was going to wait until tomorrow or Friday to call. But the woman I work with at Worksource, who was the mediator for the employer and me putting in my resume, wanted me to call today. So I did. And still haven't heard anything.

Oh, well. I guess I'm back to plugging more resumes!

You might want to give them a call if you don't hear back tomorrow-- just tell them you've been having phone trouble, and you just wanted to check and be sure that you didn't miss a call. Perfectly reasonable, and if they didn't call, they will just put it down to you being eager-- which is a good thing, actually.

I did give them a call, to thank them for the interview and just to inquire if the position has been filled. They didn't reply, so I'm not getting my hopes up. But, it could have been worse. I'm trying to look at it as more interview practice.

The waiting is the absolute worst. I just want to hear, one way or the other!

I did give them a call, just to see if the position has been filled and to thank them for their time, but no response, so I'm going on the assumption I didn't get it. Oh, well, it was more interview practice!

Dang, that's awful to be in that situation - I do hope something has been resolved by now? Hoping you get that job - without anymore stress like this!

I don't think I got it, but I'm going to take it as a learning experience and more interview practice. On to the next job application, I guess!
