piplover: (Doesn't add up)

I woke up yesterday coughing and wheezing.  I thought I may be coming down with something, until my brain caught up with me and I realized...

My state is burning.  That big dark circle surrounded by fire?  Yeah, that's where I live.  There's been a thick haze in the air the past week or so, and I guess my asthma finally decided it had had enough.

I'm kind of tired of the smell of smoke now.

Thank you! *Hugs* I'm feeling much better today. It seems the haze has, if not dissipated, at least thinned out a bit. I'm hoping the cooler weather will help.

Ugh that's terrible. I live in the Bay Area, CA and a few years ago there were fires in the East Bay and in Santa Cruz and one morning we woke up and the sky was orange and the house was actually filled with this hazy substance... it was terrible. There was soot all over everything for weeks. I tried to stay indoors as much as possible at that time. :( The smoke smell is terrible too and gets into everything. So sorry!

Yeah, everything has smelled like smoke for a few weeks now. I'm lucky in that I live in a bit of a dustbowl, so I'm used to having to dust five minutes after I've cleaned. Still, I could do without the smell of it lingering in my hair. Ick!

*Hugs*

I didn't even really process it until a few days ago. I hope they get them under control soon. I can't remember the last time we had such bad fires.

Yikes! That's scary. And I didn't even hear about them! What kind of national news reporting does the NYTimes have, anyway? Stay safe!
