I have my CT scan in a few hours, so I'm drinking the stuff that's supposed to let them see my insides better.  OMG, it tastes foul.  I chose the berry, because the only other option was mocha, and just the taste of coffee makes me feel sick sometimes.  I don't know if would have made any difference, though.  At first you're like, Hmmm, not so bad.  Then you really taste it and it's like, OMG, I want to squeegee my tongue!!  And the horrible thing is I have to keep drinking the stuff.  You drink a half of the two bottles every hour, and then the last bit a half hour before you go.  Ick!!  I tried holding my nose, but that really didn't help, and I can't eat or drink anything until after the scan.

Ugh.

On the plus side?  I have Avengers!!

Poor baby! It's awful to have to eat or drink something that tastes nasty--but to have to KEEP doing it, and not even able to drink something to take the taste out of your mouth! That's just torture!

((hugs))

Here's a little double drabble. I don't suppose it will take the taste out of your mouth, but maybe it will cheer you up a little!

The King looked down at the young unconscious guardsman, and then at the small figure standing beside him, wearing a woeful expression.

"I'm sorry, sire," Pippin said ruefully. "He gave me no choice."

There were several voices from the rest of the onlookers, all raised in support of Pippin's statement.

Aragorn shook his head. "What happened?"

"We were sparring, but he grew angry when I started getting the better of him." Pippin looked up with an expression of hurt. "He was really trying to injure me…or well…he was serious."

"He might have killed Sir Peregrin!" said one of the other guardsmen, and there were murmurs of assent.

"How did you best him, then, Pippin?" the King asked.

"When I realised he was truly angry, I ducked beneath his legs and tripped him from behind. Then I used the hilt of my sword to knock him out. I had to hit him pretty hard since he had a helm on. I hope he isn't injured too badly."

There was a pitiful moan from the prone figure. "I do not think that he is, Pippin. However, he may be wishing you had killed him by the time I get through with him."

*grins* I love the King's support of his small knight. Pippin certainly knows how to take care of himself.

I think so. I'm imagining some young smart-aleck from the outlying areas who's new to the guard thinking he could take Pip out easily (and discounting the tales of troll-slaying), and then getting angry when he found out that wasn't going to happen...

Pippin's only worry would be hurting him too much.

A nice sequel might be the King having a stern (but understanding) talk with the young smart-aleck to educate him about the courage and deeds of certain hobbits.

Yes, a stern and understanding talk with him. And perhaps a stern talk as well from Pippin's cousins; Frodo would likely be understanding--I'm not so sure Merry would be.

And then about a month of mucking out the stables, or something equally fascinating, LOL!

Oh, thank you, sweetie. This totally made my day all better. Thank you! *Hugs*

I have been scanned, and even though the iodine was an interesting experience, I have survived! Thank you for this lovely treat.

Ew. I'm sorry you had to drink that.

Avengers is good, though....we should be getting our copy in the mail this week.

I pre-ordered it and then kept checking the tracking, lol. I've already watched it and the specials, but tomorrow I'm going over to a friend's to have a marathon of all the movies, topped off by the Avengers. I love being a geek!

I had a CT scan last year and yeah, that stuff is FOUL and you have to keep drinking it and drinking it! (And the iodine was very unpleasant. Really very.)

I'm glad you got through it and are DONE!

The iodine was an... interesting experience. One I think I can do without again. And the stuff you drink was so disgusting, lol. I 'm so glad it's done and over with.

Hang in there! (Good luck with the test -- hope it goes well and easy!)

Congrats on "The Avengers" -- good viewing!

Thanks! I'm thankful the scan was done and over with in about 10 minutes. I'm torn between hoping for a perfectly normal scan and that they will find something to explain why the pain keeps coming back.
