It is what it is
Oct. 20th, 2012 09:30 pmAt least, that's what I keep telling myself. Today has been... trying.
It started off really well, going shopping with my sister and mom. I got a new dress and a sweater, and my sister got a new coat while my mom got a new sweater and some shoes. It was a lot of fun, since we haven't been able to do that in a long time.
Then we went to my cousin's wedding, which was lovely. After, I had an appointment for someone to come change the battery in my car. They were 20 minutes late, which meant we were late to the reception and missed the family photos, but he put the battery in and the car started, no problem. Great! Everything was good.
The reception was fun, seeing a bunch of family I haven't seen in years, and my cousin was a blast. She was so beautiful, and she spent a good chunk of the night dancing.
Then I got back to my mom's, went to start the car... and it was completely dead. Well, first the horn went off for no apparent reason, which scared me and probably half the neighborhood, and then it completely died after blaring for a good 20 seconds. No clicking, no lights, nothing. Just dead.
I'm trying not to let it get to me, but I'm frustrated and annoyed and stressed at how much it may cost to fix it. I need my car, for work, to get groceries, to run errands. It's like having my freedom taken away from me, having to rely on other people to get me to church or anywhere else I can't reasonably walk. Ugh.
But I have church tomorrow, and then a family BBQ. I'm going take a bath now and keep reminding myself that everything happens for a reason.

Date: 2012-10-21 04:01 pm (UTC)It's a 2001 Toyota Carola. It does have an alarm, but not an immobiliser.
When I went to start it after the wedding it was completely dead. No lights, no click, nothing. I turned the key and nothing.
Thanks for asking for dad, I really appreciate that!
