I voted.

I voted the day I got my ballot. WA is a completely mail in ballot state, so I voted about 3 weeks ago.

People think I'm over-reacting when I say I'm literally terrified of what will happen to this country if Romney wins. But the truth is I fear for my nation. I'm afraid fear and prejudice is going to be given a foothold, and rather than prosper and grow we're going to wither and eventually die.

Even if Obama wins, the House will probably still remain Republican. Which means more fights, more stone walling, and more school yard tactics. I don't know why people consistently vote against their best interest, but they do.

But putting aside my fear of the outcome, I am so thankful every day for the men and women who fought for my right to vote. Hard to believe that women haven't even been voting for a hundred years, isn't it?

My class discussion for third period history was all about voting rights. As each woman won for senate tonight and a mysoginist jerk lost, my daughter and I cheered. :). Then she poked her head out of the door and said "Mama, can I be rude and say that those men are dumbasses?"
